What is
Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing is the Japanese art of "Shinrin Yoku",
translated as: 'taking in the forest air with all the senses'.

With Forest Guide David M. Motzenbecker, PLA, ANFT
Founder, Motz Studios Forest Bathing Experiences
I can't express how much the forest bathing walk I took with David in 2020 impacted and transformed me. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. I hope you join us for this amazing opportunity!
We will walk our farm property which has diverse ecosystems including the flowers, fields, woods and water areas. This walk will also incorporate a lovely brief tea ceremony at the end.
Walk information:
Experience an ancient wellness practice being rediscovered anew in the 21st century. Join us on a 2-hour immersive, meditative, and awe-inspiring Japanese forest bathing experience (Shinrin Yoku).
See first-hand how nature’s fractals, sounds, and sensations reduce your stress and anxiety, and boost your mood. Give yourself permission to disconnect, slow down, and intentionally connect your senses to the healing beauty of nature.
Day of walk:
- Guests should wear boots/shoes, clothing/gear appropriate for weather. Walk will be held in good weather and in rain; but not thunderstorms.
- Please wear/bring mosquito/tick repellent and sunscreen if desired.
- Please bring water if you would like to have some available throughout the walk.
- We ask that you please arrive 15 minutes prior to our walk. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated due to the immersive nature of the program.
- This is a TECH-FREE experience, so please leave mobile phones in car for duration of walk.
- All participants must sign Motz Studios’ Waivers of Liability prior to the walk which will be available when you arrive.
Good to note:
- You-Pick bouquets are not included in the price of this walk but will be open afterwards for an additional $20 per bouquet.
- We have a porta potty on site.
- This activity is not suitable for those who cannot walk or stand on unstable ground for long periods.
